omg. who can expect this to happen
SINGAPORE IDOL....
being a singaporean, i'm definitely proud of our very first and second SG Idol, Taufik and Hady respectively.
both singers possess great vocal range and the ability to tackle songs of different generes, are they our nation's jewel? definitely i say.
every season, singapore idol allows the country to spot local talents, low profiles who enjoy and would rather sing behind the doors of pubs and clubs. most of them are unaware of the potential tat's within them, which can be exploit to help further their singing career in the international scene. this is why singapore idol exist, to present opportunities for passionate singers who have faith that they can be the next big thing of the country.
and every SG idol season, during the finals, before a certain song is being sang, Gurmit will always say
therefore, we have..
Taufik Batisah singing I Dream
and
Hady Mirza singing You Give Me Wings
when i heard our idols singing them, man, i was real impressed with the quality of the songs. as well as the lyrics, which are very meaningful and inspirational.
wow, the producers of singapore idol are indeed something to be able to come up with such beautiful songs eh. wat talented composers we have here in our country too!
now take a look at this:
hmm, doesnt the song sound familiar??
you're god damn right! it IS the song "I Dream". the song that Taufik Batisah, our very own singapore idol sang on that day he was given the title.
now yall are probably thinking, Leann Rimmes probably liked it so much tat she chose to sing it at such a glamourous occasion.
the truth is,
Leann Rimes sang this song, I dream, at the World Sports Award 2001,the exact same song that was claimed originally and specially written for Taufik Batisah/Sly for the Singapore Idol final showdown in 2004.
so the question is..
how come Leann Rimmes sang it first??
hmm. now i'm starting to doubt the originality of "You Give Me Wings"..
What controversy....
"how r our Singapore Idols (past, present, future) gonna go international, if they r questioned abt their originality???"
